My 96 ford f150 just got a new torque converter and a used transmission and I just finished putting it in. It is not responding to me shifting the shifter it wont do anything

 

You probably have this corrected by now but just in case.

Is it the correct convertor/transmission combo?
Was the transmission working before?
Remove a cooler line and fire it up.
No cooler flow means the pump may have been compromised.
