Default 1964 F 250 no space between stearing wheel amd seat

Can the mount between the stearing column and dash be removed then remount directly to the dash? There is only about 14 inches from the back of the seat and the wheel. Im a big guy and literally cant fit behind the wheel. Ive notices some f250s have this bracket and some dont

f250 with out the bracket

Welcome to the site..
Nice ol truck..

If the spacer were completely removed, I’d think the steering joint would be bound/stressed, lower mount as well, and the column angle would be pretty severe. I’d think a spacer could be fab’d out to increase the angle slightly and lap spacing a bit without compromising or stressing steering ops.

Im not sure if there is a universal at the bottom of the shaft or if its just a spline. Between a smaller steering wheel and a bit more angle it might work.

Cool truck! I like the pull out switches and the dash arrangement.
