Default 1975 F-350 Rollback with PS (slop in steering)

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and I have a 1975 Ford F-350 Rollback with a 460 V8. This truck has power sterring and power brakes. I bet my question has been posed before, so I apoligize this subject has been brought up before.

I wonder what all can be done to improve the steering feel? The truck has the slop in the steering that a truck 37 years would have. Beside getting the steering box rebuild and some of the steering bits replaced, has any one figured out how to get a tighter feel, or a mod to give the steering a more positive feel? Also any swaps outs to replace the steering wheel with a smaller unit? But still a Ford product to keep factory look.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

look on the steering box ! there should be a stud with a nut on it ! loosen the nut and turn the stud in until some of the slop is out of the steering, then hold the stud and tighten the lock nut !
