1989 F250 4X4 5.8L misfires runs rough
Hi guys; I am new to this forum and am very impressed with it. Can any one help me trouble shoot an issue that I have with my "newused" truck? I just bought a 1989 F250 w/5.8L 5 spd w approx 196,000 mile. The problem is that the truck is missing at idle and once you get running down the road seems to do the stutter step and has a noticeable hesistation. Although it has decent power thats what is confusing. Just a little info, the truck sat more than it ran so says the guy I bought it from.
Please help???
Thanks,
Damien256

hi, i would simply do a complete tune up first (if it has not been done already) spark plugs-fuel filter-plug wires-dist. cap and rotor-etc. also smell the gas and see if it has a sour odor to it if so get fresh gas-reply back after you have covered the basics, mark.
thanks mark i did a full tuneup including tps and aic. fired it up and what a difference. still seems like a little skip though. i have not road tested yet, probably first part of next week. also, i am going to run through a couples of tanks of gas. we shall see. thanks for your help
