Default 1994 250 2wd V8 460 (Randomly hard shifts)

Ok IF anybody can help me that would be great I have to start out with a nice long story so everybody gets all the info about the truck and I think it highly relates to the current issue.

Truck INFO: 1994 F250 2wd, 198,000mils, V8 (460), Standard cab

Main Issue: Hard shifts once in a while, very random.

Story: I bought my truck a year ago, when I bought it I could not see the millage, no dome light, speedometer did not work. And it SHIFTED REALLY HARD. I drive the truck home and felt like I had whiplash while driving the truck. It would ref up to 4000 RPM then hard shift. It did this for every gear. So I went to shucks auto supply and got me the transmission kit (filter, pan gasket, fluid) I even got some Lucas transmission fluid. It helped the hard shifting slightly but you still got out of the truck holding your neck. So one day I wanted to see why my dome light was not working. I replaced the fuse that pawed the dome light and BAM… everything started working, Shifted great, dome light worked, speedometer started working, able to read the millage. And to-date the truck runs great most of the time. But once in a while it still hard shifts. It will do it randomly and you never know when it is going to happen. It can go for days, weeks, months, without doing it then one day it does it off and on for a week to two then stop. It will not do it for a month or so then it repeats.
Has anybody ran into any issues like this before? If you require any more info please let me know and I will supply what I can.

YOUR SPEEDOMETER HAS TO WORK FOR THE TRANNY TO SHIFT RIGHT WHEN IT SHIFTS ROUGH SEE IF SPEEDOMETER IS FLUXUATING THAT COULD CAUSE YOUR PROBLEM ALSO CHECK SPEEDSENSOR IN REAR END

The speedometer started working after i replaced the dome light fuse and is working when the truck does the hard shifts. I am not sure what transmission I have in it, I will see what I can do to find out.

seems like you've got the E4OD transmission, from what I've found in cross referencing.I've had similar complaints with mine, and solved the problem by checking the wiring and plug connectors for damage and continuity. This transmissionis controlled by the computer, and all electrical connections must be good for it to operate correctly.
Google 'Ford E4Od transmission',and see what I'm talking about....it's not as simple as an old C4 or C6.
