The frame would be too short to support an 8' bed.
99 up should be interchangeable, 'somewhat', but body trim /T gates, as well as lighting, electrical connectors and fueling points/config tend to change in the later years.. Couple years newer would be fine, and probably at a lower cost over a 'take off' or bed from a dismantler etc
