Mileage numbers will/can vary, especially with the 'added' power if you use it or like to 'play'.. The great thing about tuners is that you usually get the extra ponies 'without' any loss of MPG.. The sell is,,, that most tuners should yield you from 1-2MPG more.. My 6.0 is running the Diablo Predator and has been for 20K miles with no problems.. My brother runs the Superchips tuner on his 7.3 also with no issues.. But I don't hammer on mine either.. OK, maybe once in a while if I really need to pass or get in a sticky situation I don't 'really' see any huge improvement in mileage, but most of my driving is commute.. Out on the open highway I always seem to not be able to keep it under 75 or so, and the bigger mileage gains would probably be if you could keep the speed down lower.. These trucks are like pushing a 'brick' through the air, and the faster the speed, equals more resistance, and more throttle.. I think if you were to keep your speed at 65, mileages would increase.. The power gains aren't as steep with a 7.3, in comparison to the 6.0, but it does wake up the beast.. Plus the tuner is a DTC code reader which can be a plus..
