My truck has been running great up until tonight it started running really rough and then dying. You can start it right back up and it will run fine until its reved just a little bit and it goes right back to running very rough and dies shortly after. I have check all fuses and a visual inspection of everything motor wise and they all look good. It also puts out a blue smoke when it does the rough idle. Another thing I should mention was it just got its best milage ever on a tank of fuel (22MPG) and still had a quarter tank before refilling. Any ideas of what this could be would greatly be appriciated.

 

Does the check engine light ever come on along with the rough condition?

Can you run it by one of the parts vendors like autozone and have them read the DTC and post the code... Should be no cost..
