Default 2003 5.4 f250 exhaust

I've recently bought a 2003 5.4 f250 crew cab FX4 and it has dual exhaust that are tucked up under the bumper and not visible unless you are under the truck, it's not true duals, but it really doesn't look aftermarket. Has anyone heard of that kind of thing coming stock? It doesn't sound extremely loud but it kinda has a rasp to it. Kinda like someone tried to beef it up so the engine sound matched the truck. I know nothing about exhaust systems so I'm looking for a little knowledge.

Most exhaust systems are designed to exit outside the body of the vehicle since at idle fumes can accumulate underneath and enter the vehicle, not good!
That should not be a stock set-up , safety problem.
Whoever did that did not consider the safety aspect involved .

Well the exhaust is still all the way back to the bumper, it just doesn't drop down far enough to see. Regardless, the setup is incredibly clean so it had to have been done by a professional. I may take some pictures and put them up here so y'all can tell me some more about it.

The only thing I can see and read on the muffler is 02y6 and 84220251.
