Default 2003 Ford F250 How do I change the back Emegency Brake shoes?

This should be easy, but it looks like the hub needs to come off in order to get to anything..I am in the process of replaceing all the rear brake parts on my F250. the emergency brake consists of two drum shoes.. I cant get them apart! Do i need to take the six bolts out from the bearing Hub and remove the whole axel to do this? Mike

No,, it's a tight fit working around the flange, but they are removable without the hub being pulled..

I know this is a silly question , but how would you take them off. Should I pry the bottom out and pull the springs out. there realy is no way to get the retainer clips off or back in unless the hub is off. I do notice the wedges on the top if these were to come out then I migt have a chance. Any ideas?
