2006 f250 egr
So, I had my 2006 F250 just over a year and last month my EGR fried, I unplugged it and it seemed to run much better but with engine light on (code P0404) so when I finally replaced it, the old one literary fell apart and I had to remove it in pieces ... the new one, which cost me $420 CND lasted only 3 weeks and again P0404 code is back, even if I clear it - it comes back next day... SO, Im guessing it a cooler issues especially since the first one came out in pieces...
1. if I do EGR delete, do I still need to replace the cooler??
2. if I do EGR delete, do I still need to replace the EGR valve to get rid of the engine code? (Im aware it can be 'cleared' with a tuner but I dont have access to one)
3. if Im gonna replace the EGR cooler, I was thinking of buying a kit with the high flow oil cooler, high flow EGR cooler, EGR delete with all gaskets/seals/hoses and doing an coolant flush as well.... now, is that what should be replaced or anything other recommended ??
Any help and advice is appreciated, I have worked on gas engines/cars quite a bit but this diesel is all new to me
