Ford F-250 & Ford F-350The heavier duty full sized trucks from Ford, offering bigger, more powerful engines and drivetrains for the abuse they may go through in the workplace.
To make a long story short, 6 months ago my anti-theft system shut down my truck. After a little research, I "thought" it was due to a bad battery that corrupted the key file. I am just now getting around to addressing it, new battery, plugged in diagnostic to recode keys and now I come to find out that it can't communicate with truck. Did a little more research and possible problem could be bad or broken wires. I have done the best visual check of wires that I can thru out the majority of harness and have come up empty. Need help with some ideas, or other ways of testing wiring, modules, etc. I am competent but by no means super well versed. Please help.
As always, check all the fuses !!
One of the possibilities could be no power to the scanner.
If you can, check if you have power to pin 16 of the diagnostic plug.
If there is an open in the network , or a module in the network not getting power , the system is considered down and will not communicate.
