Default 3.71 vs. 4.10 Rear end

I am about to order an'08 F350, diesel, 4x4, dually, auto trans. I will be using the truck for towing 25% of the time, the remaining 75% I will be using it for commuting, shopping, etc. (no tow).

While towing, I will be primarily conventionally pulling a ~8,000lb.(trailer & stuff)trailer. I might possibly also be towing a ~14,000lb. (trailer & stuff) 5th wheel.

I am considering ordering the truck with a 3.73 rear end, to conserve fuel while not towing. My question, if I go with the 3.73, will I be sorry I did not go with the 4.10 while towing??

Thank you

How much diffrence in fuel milage are we talking?
I've had a situation twice come up in my life where I bought something to tow and realized that my vehicle wouldn't tow it. I like over kill.

4:10

I would go with the 3.73's. it may not be ideal for towing but with the horspower and torque of the 6.4 powerstroke you'll be okay with your 14,000 lb trailer. if you were gonna tow up to the 24,500lb towing capacity then i definitely say 4.10's but you should be okay with 3.73's.
