Default 6.9 hard start
I have a 6.9 idi 1987 F250 I changed all the fuel return lines with a kit but it will start right up but sputter and die what else could be wrong

Welcome to the site..

Injection pump failures as well lift pumps are pretty common, have you installed clear hoses to look for aerated fuel?

No I haven’t but it runs good when I’m driving after you turn it off and try again in 5 to 10 min it will start then die right away
