Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS. In addition, for a list of vehicles assigned to your dealership,

REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL

In some of the affected vehicles, the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor may fail due to circuit
degradation. If the CMP Sensor should fail, the engine may stall. In the event of an engine stall, a
crash could result without warning. A new CMP Sensor with improved reliability is now available.

SERVICE ACTION

Dealers are to inspect the CMP Sensor to verify which design level sensor is installed in the affected
vehicles, and replace all prior level sensors. This service must be performed on affected vehicles at no
charge to the vehicle owner.

OWNER NOTIFICATION MAILING SCHEDULE

Parts to repair this condition are currently not available in sufficient quantities to service all of the
affected vehicles. Therefore, to ensure that an ample supply of parts is available, owners of affected
vehicles will be notified in separate phase mailings over several months. Phase mailing will begin the
week of December 17, 2007; prioritized by age of vehicle. Dealers should repair any affected vehicles
that arrive at their dealerships, whether or not the customer has received a letter.
.
OWNER REFUNDS

Ford Motor Company is offering a refund for owner-paid repairs covered by this recall if the
repair was performed prior to the date indicated in the reimbursement plan, which is posted with
this bulletin.
Dealers are also authorized to refund owner-paid emergency repairs that were performed away

If I can't find my old bills, will I still get a refund according to the dealers files? Does this cover the diagnostic charge also? I had it done twice, the one dealer is out of bussiness, and I also bought one on e-bay. Is there anything I can do in these situations to get my money back?

Ofcourse I replaced mine about a year ago and bought the part off of ebay for half the price. Guess I can't complain. I only paid $25 for a factory part.

WE have done tons of these, and only get 10 in per week its called a seed stk ship
if you bought it of ebay your probably not going to be repaid however as long as it was bought/done at a dealership it doesn't matter which one did the work ford is suppose to honor it.

Default Am I eligiable for a refund?

I have a 1996 F250 and had the camshaft sensor replaced several years ago by a ford dealership. I think the same thing has happened again. Am I eligiable for a refund for either?

If your cam sensor works, ask the dealer if they can just give you the new part as a spare. We all know how touchy this unit is and even new ones can be bad.
