Default 89 F250 7.5 replaced a 7.3

I have replaced a 7.3 diesel with a 7.5. I had both trucks so conversion was not to bad. I changed all wiring under the hood. Inside the cab I changed just the 6 wires necessary to run the fuel system. The only item not working is the temperature sensor.I have hooked to the same wire that comes from the dash(replaced with 7.5) but have no power to the sensor. Book says 5 volts+-. The 7.3 harness is still in the dash. Is there something I am missing? I also checked the terminal at the back of the gauge and have battery power to 1 post when the key is on.
