Question Back fire?

I have a 2011 f250 6.7 liter, that twice has acted like it backfires thru the carb. Yes I know it does not have a carb, it's just the only description of what it has done that I can describe. It backfires and then the engine quits. I coast to the side of the road put it in neutral or park and it restarts. Both times it has happened while towing. Then it runs fine. It was about 9 months between times that this has happened. Any ideas?

Did you notice if the engine temp was higher than normal?
I don't know for sure, but have you had a chance to check with a dealership because there might be a programming change with injection timing that might be involved.
