Default Blowing #8 fuse under hood.

I put the 08 style mirrors on my 1999 Ford F-250. They're not powered and there's no pre exisisting harness in the door to plug the harness off the new mirrors into so I cut the harnesses and wired the turn signal and marker light straight into the harness right behind the headlight on the driver and passenger side. For the heat I wired them straight off the mirror into an add a circuit with the power on my gauges. I haven't blown the fuse that Iv got the heat going to but the #8 fuse under the hood keep blowing and it varys how long it lasts. I haven't kept one in for longer than a day. When it blows it leaves me with no running lights and no dash lights. But when I hit my turn signals they still work. Any help would be much appreciated.

The 08 heated mirrors are load/element protected at 20 amps, and the 08 systems heated relay closing or trigger is protected at 10 amps. The 99 #8 is only 15amp, and your spliced in-line protection is (?) With the heater grids active the #8 is overloaded with a direct load/draw which also feeds the park lamp relay, and in part the H/L switch
I’d install a relay with the load side ‘Hot at all times’ off the Battery or Distribution box lug and use your tie in for an installed relay control off of the heat/defrost control. The heated function should/could be either switched, or only active at the times mirror heat is needed as in defrost etc. If you need illustration help let me know...

I’d doubt your turn lamps would be an issue..

I actually did away with the heat function last night. Just to see if that was the problem. I had the heat wired to an add a circuit with my gauges under the dash. So I never had a problem with the heat but I clipped the 2 wires last night to see if that was causing any problems and I'm still blowing the fuse so I'm probably gonna wire the heat back up
