I own a 1979 F250 4 x4. When the front hubs are locked I hear a noise that sounds like to small metal rods being tapped together. When the hubs are unlocked the sound stops. There is a noticeable bump feeling when locking an unlocking the right hub. The left hub does not do the same thing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Normally you don't notice and bump when locking the hub manually. Something is going on as to why that is happening and it would be a good idea to look into that particular hub assy.
