Default clinking 2005 Ford F-250 HD 5,4 gas 2005

Hi,

I am a new owner. I hear a clinking in the motor more or less heavy. It's seem like a valve clicking. Somebody tell me that would be the injection system. Have you a suggestion?

Default May be normal

Hello, I thought the same thing with my 2005 and I had 2 Ford dealers look at the problem. They both stated it was normal for a "Slight" ticking sound to be heard with the engines. One of them was even kind enough to let me listen to 3 other F250 5.4's and they pretty much all sounded the same, Go figure.

It is because They had a "silent recall" on the 5.4L. They were put together with the wrong pistons so they get piston slap. It is a "silent recall", so they wont say anything if you dont either. If you mention it they should replace the engine for free.

I have an 04 F250 with the 5.4. Is the recall on the 04s as well?
