have a 2002 f250 crewcab 4x4 and when i shut the truck off the radio stays on til i turn the radio off. and when i open the drivers door the dome light does not come on, but with the other doors, dome light does come on

 

any help with this yet? my '02 Excursion started doing the same thing. Is your door ajar light on also? Mine is, and somehow I think it's related.

 

no help yet.........thinking its the door switch in the drivers door, since when you open any of the other doors the radio stops and the dome light comes on. just have not had the time to get a switch and tear into the door.

 

hey i have 4 f250's from 99 to 2004 and the radio will stay on till u open the door ......they hav done this sense they were new....these trucks are known for the electric swtich in door to go bad and make dome light eather stay on or not to come on at all .................................. big john

 

Yep, that's it...(at least on mine) the door ajar switch in the driver door. That's fixed but one of my computers (SEM) was also bad. It's at the dealer being programmed now. $$$
All because of my bad alternator? I think it must have surged when it went out and fried these things.
