Default Emergency/parking Brake Adj

I have a 99.5 cc drw 4wd 7.3 6spd. One of the emergency brake cables broke. I have replaced it, but the brakes need adj/tightened. How do you adj the setting? The brakes are not holding at all, pedal almost falls to the floor. Thanks, Luke

The park brake adjustment is like a standard drum adjuster.. The E-brake on the S/D's is a 'drum in hat' meaning that the E-brake is a small shoe set in the center of the rotor assembly.. Just remove the backing plate adjuster plug, and rotate the star adjuster until a slight drag is heard..

Here's a pic of the backing plate adjuster hole..

Hayapower,

Thanks for the info and diagram. I took a quick look after installing cable for that exact adjuster and didn't see anything. Guess I was in to big a hurry.

Thanks again, Ranch Horse
