I just bought a new F350 turbo diesel and I notice theres is an odd sound after the Engine is shut off. Sounds like something is still rotating for a few seconds. Also notice with in park or neutral the engine RPM increase to around 1000, but when I press on the break the idel drops to around 600 rpm.

Is the noise asociated with the turbo? I hear you are suppose to idel for a few minuites when the engine is hot, but the engine should be hot because the drive home is a very light load for the engine.
As for the high idle, I am lost on this one.

i've got an 2004 F-250 and it does the same thing, i cant figure it out either. Is yours auto or manual?
