Error Code U0074 2014 F350 6.7
 

I am getting this error code on my 2014 F350 6.7. I had an accident in the late fall 2025, damage was on the front passenger side.. All of a sudden this code is now showing up. I have checked and tested all the fuses. I can clear the code and it will go away and stay off for random period. I think it is related to Communication Bus B. I know there are several modules on that Bus.

At first, I thought it might be the GPCM because it is on that side of the truck. I am going to take the fender liner off and see if I can inspect the wires and unplug and plug the connectors.

In the past week My brakes pulse really bad. I thought might be rotors or brake pads, now I am not sure. May be related to the Electronic Brake Control Module / ABS? Going to check the brakes when I pull the fender liner off.

I might add the truck runs, drives, and shifts fine from performance perspective, The Brakes are the only odd thing that has happened.

Looking for ideas.

This is what you should consider,,,,,,,,have your vehicle scanned for module health , if all is OK,
check the wheel speed sensor for that R/F wheel including all wiring and connections there.

Checking includes using a meter to verify the signals are getting through to the ABS module.

Thank you. I have used ForScan for years for other things. Wife's Bronco and a few little things on the truck. Can I use that to test the health of the modules? Meaning would it be detailed enough.

The plan is to verify none of the wires are chaffed or cut. Then make sure all the plugs are seated correctly.

I know the GPMC is on the passenger side behind the fender. Where is the Electronic Brake Control Computer located?

They are located in different places depending on model. Also called hydraulic control unit, has brake lines for control of pressures to each wheel depending on info rec'd from wheel speed sensor.. Since possible damage might have happened due to accident, might be a good idea to do tests in that area.

Thank you. I haven't forgotten. The error code has not came back yet. However, more information. I was thinking I needed to change my rotors and pads on the front because of the pulsing. I do not think that is the culprit. I have been paying attention and as I apply pressure. I feel pressure pushing back in some cases. Almost like the ABS is trying to activate.

I have the Forscan app ready to test the modules if I can get the code to come back.

Sorry for the delay. I was able to finally get the U0074 code and hook up the ForScan app. So apparently the vibration / brake pedal experience are a coincidence. ForScan actually gave me these details in the attachments. Turns out that apparently my wife's phone was causing the error. As soon as I removed her phone as a Bluetooth option started the truck the light went off. Brakes are still pulsating. Hope to check the rotors this weekend since it is the first weekend free in months!

While the U0074 code itself is standardized, the “Status (-43)” portion is manufacturer‑specific and typically means the infotainment module attempted Bluetooth communication but the underlying vehicle network was unavailable.
