Ford F-250 & Ford F-350The heavier duty full sized trucks from Ford, offering bigger, more powerful engines and drivetrains for the abuse they may go through in the workplace.
I recently bought a 2017 F-250 Lariat from Grapevine Ford here north of Dallas. When I purchased the vehicle the check engine light was on and they assured me it was a bad diesel cap and they have ordered a knew one to replace it. I was also under the impression that everything inside the truck worked. I come back 2 days later to replace the diesel cap. They reset the code but it the check engine light came back on so i brought my truck back in so they could fix the light and the cooling/ heated seats and one usb port were not working as well. They resolved the seats but nothing else. 10 days from the purchase date my truck spontaneously bursts into flames. Reading online it aligns with the recall they placed for faulty wiring off the engine block heater causing fires, however this did not affect my vin ( I do believe it was the same issue though) The dealership and ford claim no responsibility for the truck burning itself up. They say insurance should handle it which they will but insurance seems irrelevant in this situation. I feel that ford is responsible due to it being an electrical/ mechanical fault from the truck its self and being only 10 days after i purchased it. What do yall think my best options are for recourse in this situation?
