F250 No Passenger Side Low Beam

I have a 2008 F250 XL. The passenger side low beam does not work. The high beam works and the drivers side lights works fine. The bulb is good. I only have 8.6 volts at the low beam connector at the bulb. The #8 low beam fuse is good. There is 12V at the fuse, but only 8.6 volts at the low beam pin on the fuse block. Can the fuse block be bad? Can it be something else?

If you have 12 volts going into the fuse and only 8 coming out either there is something putting resistance in the wire to the lamp or fuse is n/g or questionable connection at fuse or under the fuse panel. Good visual inspection should help find the cause.

Did you take @hanky 's advice?
1. verify 12V to the fuse and out of it
2. do a good visual inspection of the fuse and the fuse panel
3, do a good inspection of the wire to the lamp

I'm going to do some more tracking today. And see if I can't find the spot to where I'm loosing voltage. It keeps throwing me off that it works when my hi beams are on.

If this helps,

BOTH HI and LOW beam have separate fuses.
The fact that there is a voltage drop at the fuse would most likely indicate the fuse is part of the problem, just discard it and install a new same rating fuse.

I did that first along with changing out the pigtail. Im being lead to believe it's a problem with the relay inside the sjb

hanky 02-14-2023 05:41 PM

A relay would affect both sides.. There appears to be a connection problem ..

From everything I could find the kow side is controlled separately ing the bcm
