I have a 2022 F350 diesel crew cab short bed which I pull a 5th wheel RV with a GVW of 15000 lbs and a pin weight of 3000 lbs. With the Rv attached the rear of the truck drops 2 1/2”. Using an Anderson Ultimate hitch which sets the ball hookup back about 4” from center of the truck which unfortunately shifts the weight of the RV more towards the rear of truck which affects the weight on the front of the truck. That could be the problem! Although the front still close to normal. Drives fine on the road.
Question: would you recommend adding some rear air shocks or?

Sorry for the late reply. You say "4" from center of truck". not really sure what you mean. The hitch pin plate should be just barely forward of the center of rear axel. I suspect you're slightly behind the re4ar axel which actually lightens the front end of truck, this is not good. What do you have for a 5th wheel hitch in the truck. Reason I ask, I have a 2020 F-250 towing a 13,000 lb loaded 5th wheel with 2500+ pin weight. I know because I scaled it. My truck ALSO is lighter on the front end with the trailer than without! Not good. Only 40 lbs lighter but with trailer attached ABOUT 80% pin weight should be on real axel and approx 20% on the front of truck. My truck does NOT have the puck system so when my TowRite hitch was installed they used the under bed Ford brackets. With the short bed like yours the brackets fit the frame meaning the plate is centered about 1/2" rear of the rear axel! Not good! But even still I have only 2 1/2-3' suspension squat. Consequently I'm getting the B&W Patriot 18K hitch with slider. It will attach to my present base rails and allow me to put some weight on the front end of the truck. If you only have 2 1/2 suspension squat you do not need air shock, air bags. I presume you have load range E tires. You are resting on your overload spring....barely!

. …. I have since upgraded to a Companion slider 5th wheel hitch which is centered over the rear axle. Great setup but still have a drop of 1-3” when loaded with 5th wheel
