Default fuel filter

Just wondering how often I should replace my fuel filters. Im leaving in a week to go out west snowmobiling. My 6.0 F-250 is my first diesel so I dont know a whole lot about them yet. Just bought it 2 months ago. A friend of mine told me to bring an extra fuel filter with in case I gell up. So I went to the dealership and bought one, just about crapped my pants when I had to pay for it. Also for oil changes, any recomondations on what brand of oil to use?

I replace mine every 15,000 miles. I guess it is a matter of opinion. I agree with you on the price. I have used DELO oil in mine for the past 5 years. You might try some diesel additive when you go on your trip. Might help with the gel factor.
