Hot switch on a 97 F250 HD

Hot switch on a 97 F250 HD
I have a 97 F250 HD and the switch that controls the air/heat/vent etc. gets so hot the **** fell off. It will smoke your fingers if you touch the shank on the switch. It does stay cool when off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ------------Ron
