Default How to loosen Distributor on a 1989 5.8L F250

Hi, Can someone please help me. I am trying to loosen the distributor on my 1989 5.8L motor in my truck. I need to time the engine and cant loosen the distributor up. There is corrosion around the base of it where it sits in the motor. I have tried Liquid wrench, PB-Blaster, lightly tapping with a brass plug and pliers but nothing is loosening it up. And, yes, I did remove the locking tab and screw. (LOL) Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated (short of a 16# sledge of course).

Thanks

Default Try this...

take 2 pry bars and get on opposite sides and easily pry one side then the other. Corrosion has built up in the bore. It won't take much to loosen the corrosion and you should be able to turn the dist. I have seen this many times. Hope this helps. Mike
