How to program remotes
I have a 2006 250 xlt crew cab, and have 2 remotes I can not program. I have tried to do it with the doors open, doors closed, and no luck. I have turned the key from the #3 position to the #4 position 8 time in under 10 seconds and stoped in the 4th posiition, and the locks do not open or close. In the manual it tells youhow to program them but the step which should occurafter turning the key 8 times, which is the locks open then you program the remote doesn't work.
Boy I have tried many times but can not get the locks to close, or open after turning the key 8 times..Any ideas whould sure help..Thanks in advance

Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Programming
NOTE: All remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitters must be programmed at the same time.
NOTE: Programming the RKE transmitters can be accomplished using a diagnostic tool or by carrying out the following steps:
[ol][*]The vehicle must be electronically unlocked before entering program mode using the RKE transmitter, RKE keypad (if equipped) or door lock control switch while the driver door is open.[/ol]
[*]Turn the key from the OFF to the RUN position 8 times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in the RUN position. If the module successfully enters program mode, the module locks and unlocks all the doors.[/ol]
[*]Within 20 seconds, press any button on an RKE transmitter and the doors lock and then unlock to confirm that the RKE transmitter is programmed. Repeat this step for each RKE transmitter.[/ol]
[*]If the door locks do not respond for any RKE transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Inspection and Verification in this section. (Make sure that no more than the maximum number of RKE transmitters are attempted to be programmed.)[/ol]
[*]Exiting the programming mode is accomplished if one of the following occurs:
[*]The key transitions to the OFF position.[/ul]
[*]Twenty seconds have passed since entering programming mode or since the last RKE transmitter was programmed.[/ul]
[*]The maximum number of RKE transmitters has been programmed.[/ul][/ol]

Thanks, did it and still will not enter the programin module. Nothing happens after turning the key 8 times, the door locks do not close and open by thereselves, so it is not entering the progrming mode.Somethimg isnot letting me into the programing mode.I had to reprogram the seat belt remienders, and had no problem getting in the programing mode which uses the key also. I even stopped by our local ford dealer and the service writer tried it too, no luck getting in the programing module. soI'm still looking to figure out the secret to get in the progrming mode.
