Hi! This is pretty urgent, so I was hoping I can get some answers ASAP. I have a 1996 Ford F-250 7.3LPowerstroke that rolled a few months ago with a working engine but no body. I have another Ford truck that NEEDS an engine with no cosmetic damages...I dont know the year of the truck, I will find out tomorrow but I was wondering if I can get a list of years that the engine will interchange with. Trying to put the engine in that one...get 1 good truck out of it =)

if the good body was a gasser u would have to change tranny also if automatic also computer and possibly wireing harness

 

Hi! I probably didnt make sense or make it clearer, but the other truck I believe is a Diesel as well. I dont have the paperwork with me so Im not sure what year it is. Its about 2 hours away. But what I was actually hoping for, was an answer to this: What other models, year, can the 1996 7.3L Powerstroke be put in? Even if it doesnt work on this other truck, we can hopefully find one that will. We called a dealership and they just simply said a 1996 7.3L engine can NOT be put in any other truck. It doesn't seem right to me.

For example, 1994-1996 used the same engine. (Not saying that it does, but thats what Im hoping to find out)

if both trucks had the 7.3 powerstroke i see no reason that they wouldent interchange
