Default lift question, need help

i have a 2002 f250 power stroke with a superlift 8" lift, and i'm trying to go another 2" taller. on the stock sping hanger brackets for the front springs there are brackets for front bumper adjustment, and bracketry for what superlift is calling a "crash bar". this crash bar runs from frame rail to frame rail, and sits behind the plastic air dam on the bottom of the fromt bumper. on the new spring hangers, there are no brackets for either. after calling superlift, they said the crash bar is not there for frame support, that it's only purpose is for added safety in an accident. but it looks to me like it would help to keep the ends of the frame from flexing side to side. i can order more brackets for the bumper adjustment mounts, but if the "crash bar" is an integral component for structural integrity, i don't want to sacrifice it just for another couple of inches of lift. i can't find anything about this topic on ford's website, and my local dealer has no idea. so if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

That piece is only there to keep other vehicles from going underneath your front end. If I remember correctly, it has 3 bolts on each side. I think there is also several little bolts holding the little plastic valance in front of it. I think they added this in 2001, I know the 99's didn't have it but cannot remember for sure on the '00's. You can remove these parts without worry of anything. I am going to try to include a pic of my 2001 with this garbage removed, but not sure if I know how to yet. Removing this junk really cleans the front of the truck up and in my opinion look much better.

not sure your plans for the parts that you remove, but some dummy actually paid $108.00 for just the steel bar with the 6 bolts on ebay. just want to let you know this....every little bit helps.

i'll probably hang on to this part for a while. at least untill i've done plenty of R&D with it off. but thanks, i'll most likely put it on there when i decide i don't need it. i just listed my stock hubs after sitting on them for over two years because i didn't figure they'd be worth much, but i saw another pair go on there for around $300. i had to put them on after that. thanks again man!
