Default Power steering dead E250 4.6L

Thanks for the help with other problems but now we have a new one.

We replaced the 4.6L engine
Steering worked with old engine
Now, no power steering at all

We replaced the pump as a pro active measure on the new engine

When we loosen the outlet pressure side hose, oil drips out slowly
When we run the engine no extra drips, no pressure

We pressurized the fill res. but this did not help

At this point the only "logical" thing we can think of is the pump is defective?????

Thanks,
Chuck

We are replacing the pump today with the hopes it will solve the problem. I will update later.

If it’s not building any pressure, I’d be suspect of the pump if application was correct. I’d guess the old pump was returned as a core?

My policy is that we never scrap out anything until the project is done and perfect. My employee threw out the original pump.

Thanks
