Hello everyone

I am looking at buying at 1999 F-250 7.3L diesel 4X4 to pull the family trailer (weighing about 5000 Lbs). Is there anything glaring about this particular F series I should pay attention to or there has been serious problems with, although I am familiar with the torque convertor problem , on occassion

Thats a good model/year truck. Chances are the converter was changed long ago or doesn't need to be. You won't notice that little amount of weight behind it. The 7.3 is a great engine.
