Default Pushing brake makes blinker stop blinking

I have a 2004 F250 and when I push the brake pedal while I have the blinker on, the Blinker stays solid and no longer blinks until I take my foot off of the brake pedal. At that time, it starts blinking again. Does this have anything to do with the Signal switch going out? It just all of a sudden started while I was driving. It worked fine and then stopped.
