Default Redline or Amsoil ATF for use in FORD F250

Hello all Been conducting some research on the WEB + owners Manual and Haynes Repair Manual Respectfully requesting all that view this Subject for your guidance, suggestions & experience. I have a Ford Model Yr 2006 F250 XLT 4x4 equipped with 6.0 Diesel --- 5r100 Automatic transmission --- and needs to be changed ( Fluid & Filter ) Ford Owners manual states ONLY Mercon SP Now I sent two separate e-mails to Amsoil & Redline Technical Support Services requesting if they had a Synthetic fluid that would meet or exceed the Mercon SP -- plus I asked that by installing either Redline or Amsoil I would not VOID existing Factory Warranty. Amsoil returned e-mail stating they have a NEW formula Universal ATF --- now I also asked is the Mercon SP stamped on the Container and only the new formula has the Mercon SP stamp so caution if its determined to use Amsoil be sure you order it online and then DOUBLE verfiy once received it has Mercon SP stamped on the Amsoil Label. Redline returned e-mail and recommended D6ATF - Part # 30704 Does anyone out their have experience with either of the two synthetic product in a FORD F250 Auto Transmission ? And if so what would you recommend ( Amsoil, Redline or just stay with the Motorcraft Mercon SP ) ? Many thanks in advance -- John from Colfax NC

Many thanks to all

I am also installing following:
-External Coolant Filtration system
-Installing Evans NPG+ coolant fluid
-External Transmission Filtration System
-Changing out rear differential to a Mag-Hytec with new Synthetic 70W140 per owners Manual
-Turbo Saver that is adjustable to cool turbo before engine
final shutdown --- I have read and heard this is one of the major reasons for turbo failures
-I desire to stay as stock as possible --do not plan to ADD any type of performance chip --- have read to many bad stories around this matter
-However my plan is to do best preventative maintenance strategies so Truck will run for years to come
-My theory is I could spent the money on an extended warranty plan ( Money wasted in my viewpoint ) or put the same dollars to some good preventative measures
-Requesting all to advise of any other suggestions to help the Diesel 6.0 go the distance

This is GREAT Info ----

Many thanks first & Foremost for your inputs

Plus is one of the primary reasons / benefit of any Forum
-To hear the input / experiences from both extremes
-Then each individual can determine what they decide to do
-PLEASE keep the inputs coming in from your personal experiences )
-Once collectively we have a complete list this thread can be viewed by all and referenced to in future questions
-I personally believe in the basic maintenance --- but being this is my first Diesel ( I am proceeding with extreme caution ) I figured lets spend the money I could have spent on an extended warranty plan ( Money wasted in my view point ) and put that same money / dollars into preventative maintenance measures.

I do not see any replies either. And, I would be very interested in reading the responses/info. Can they be restored (reposted)?

I run Amsoil synthetics in everything I have including my lawn mower!! Engine, transmission and differential, air filter and EA oil filter. I had almost 60,000 miles on my 1995 Dodge Cummins diesel engine oil with a by-pass oil filtration system performing oil sample testing that returned suitable for continued use.
