Safe to use rubber fuel line in place of plastic on 87 f250?
Having a heck of a time trying to find replacement fuel hose and return hose that melted at tank ends on my front fuel tank on my 87 F250 XL. Heck, Luckily Brent in Marysville Ford had 2 ****** fuel connectors. I searched the state and even though those style quick connects were used till 2003, they dont stock them at dealers anylonger. You can buy repair lenghts and they come with fittings. But very expensive.
My question is since I have the 4 connectors I need. Can I convert to high quality EFI rated rubber hose to hook up to my sending unit fuel and return lines that to from sending unit to my selector valve? I have a carb 460 engine. NOT EFI. So pressure I would think would not be an issue. Plus hose is rated for EFI if I buy good hose.
This looks like easiest fix.
Has anyone used fuel hose instead of the plastic hose?
Thanks.
