Spark plug change

Spark plug change
My '01 V-10 Supercab has 99k miles now and is approaching the recomended spark plug change interval. I am concerned about plug blow-out after the change. Any tips/tech information on how to change the plugs and prevent this problem would be appreciated.
Should I even change the plugs now? This truck runs great and gets relatively good fuel economy for a big 4x4--13.5-15.5 mpg. and has no miss or start problems.
Also, does one replacement plug perform better than the others? My primary interest is fuel economy, I seldom use all the power this thing makes!

RE: Spark plug change
#!. DO NOT USE BOSCH SPARK PLUGS!!!!!!!
#2 Blow any dust or debris out of the plug cavities BEFORE removing the spark plugs
#3. Use a quality anti-seize compound on the plug threads, just a little, don't overdue it
#4. Torque the spark plugs to Ford specs.
#5. Pray to the spark plug Gods

RE: Spark plug change
The Bosch plugs with the mutiple ground electrodes causes problems with Ford's computer controled electronic ignition. I don't see any problems using Bosch single grounding electrode plugs. I wouldn't wait 100k next time to change them out, maybe 30 to 40k.

RE: Spark plug change
I have an 04 250 and I actually had a plug blow off my truck yesterday. I had a noise that started like a ticking, lifter noise or small exhaust leak or so I thought. I was on my way to work and POP!!! thought I snapped a rod but had it towed to my trusty garage and sure enough blew #7 third one back on the passenger side. which come to find out my mechanic friend has done about 35 of them!!!! I would do them at 100000miles and I am pretty sure the torque specs are 11lbs but after you change them give it 2 weeks and check them again. a lot of times they are over tightened and it is only and aluminum block, so the threads strip out. GOOD LUCK and GAS ON!!!
