I'm just curious to here everybody's opinnion on what the best oil is for a Ford Powerstroke Diesel is. If you feel like throwing in your 2 cents about the best oil filter I would appreciate that too, although I have pretty much made up my mind to go with a Wix.

I have a 2001 Ford F350, 4x4, 7.3 Powerstroke,AT,SRW, CC, LB with 64,000 miles.

 

I Run Delo 400 LE.... OEM filters...

 

I use canola oil because it's low in saturated fat

when i managed a local lube shop, most people with diesels used delo.

 

I use Delo 15-40 and find the oem filters at walmart

 

I have contacted the dealer and many diesel mechanics, the recommended oil for the 7.3 Powerstroke is Shell Rotella T (high detergency properties, especially important for the HEUI injectors), or Ford's Diesel Oil, and for Filtration, I've used Motorcraft filters with no trouble. I wish you well.

 

And used Lucas Synthetic Oil stabilizer, too. ( I used to have a Powerstroke).

 

I go with AMSOIL hands down.
