Default to wrap headers or not to wrap?

I just received my headers for my 76' F-250 and I'm considering wrapping the headers to keep the heat down from my soon to be new starter (on order), and I thought I would get some input from others. I already know it voids warranty, manufacture says it will prematurely rust and rot away. But that's what I would say if I offered a coated set of headers so I could get just a little more out of such said person. I'm mainly wondering if others have wrapped and if they did rot away, how long it took to rot away, and so on. If all went good what wrap did ya'll use?
