I recently got a 1989 Ford F-250 with a 302 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. It needs the transmission replaced and I might have one, but first I need to know for sure, does the new transmission have to be from a truck with the same gear ratio? Or will it work as long as it's a ZF5 and the front and rear differentials remain the same?
