AWD or Transmission humming noise

AWD or Transmission humming noise
I have a 2007 AWD 500. Approx. 150,000 miles
Just wondering if it is normal to have a humming noise coming from the transmission or AWD gear box. Only seem to notice the noise at lower speeds. I considered changing the gear oil, but don't know if it's easier to take to the dealer.

I have the same grumbly/growly thing in the low bands, usually between 30-40, although I can use the gas pedal to make it happen on command, usually. You can feel the vibration mostly through the foot-feed, although on a slow hill you can feel it in the seat. WTF?
I asked the guy I bought it from about it and we went driving. He felt it, but couldn't figure it out, had both of his mechs drive it, they couldn't pinpoint. He extended the warranty six months and said "drive it, if something breaks I'll fix it." I would still like to know WHAT it is, however.
