latest/last software versions
I have a 2005 Ford Fivehundred SE. Im recently running into an issue that related to the following TSB:
Ford Five Hundred Headlight issue: TSB 05551 INTERMITTENT HEADLAMP FLICKER WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 2/21/2005 NHTSA ID #10014682 Publication Date: March 21, 2005 FORD: 2005 Five Hundred, Freestyle MERCURY: 2005 Montego ISSUE: Some 2005 Freestyle, Five Hundred and Montego vehicles built before 2/21/2005 may exhibit the headlamps flickering intermittently, with no key in the ignition. ACTION: Reprogram the smart junction box (SJB) to the latest calibration using WDS B36.0 or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. The procedure to reprogram the SJB is virtually the same as reprogramming a powertrain control module (PCM), except when selecting the module to be programmed, select the SJB (WDS may refer to it as the GEM). WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage OPERATION DESCRIPTION TIME 050501A 2005 Freestyle, Five Hundred, Montego: Check For Diagnostic Trouble Codes And Reprogram The Smart Junction Box (SJB) (Do Not Use With 12650D, 12650D84, 12651D, 12651D4) 0.4 Hr. DEALER CODING BASIC PART NO. CONDITION CODE 14C184 04 Here is a list of modules that I would like confirmation on what the latest or last software version is so I can understand if my Ford Dealership screwed me out of $129 for updating the GEM module, or if they even updated anything. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Here is the current GEM module: GEM - Generic Electronic Module Part number: 5F9T-14B476-AX Strategy : 5G1T-14C184-AM Software version: v14 Thank you, Todd |
Vehicle is to old for the current software programming to be listed using the VIN on the ford site.
Pay should have been only 0.4 labor, based on you saying $129 I assume they charged a full hour instead. Always sad to hear another dealer screwing a customer over, some of us are good. If you go to another dealer who doesnt screw you over they can check if the SJB is already up to date on programming. |
