Steering groan

I have an 06 Five Hundred that groans when making routine turns. This only happens after the car is warm. When it's cold there is no groaning. Any thoughts?

first check to make sure the fluid is the proper level. is the fluid a dark, almost black color? if so it would be good idea to flush the system and refill with fresh fliud. also has the car been 'lubed' lately?
