2013 Ford Flex limited 2wd odd starting issues
I have a 2013 Ford Flex limited 2wd. When I start the vehicle after is has been sitting a while it starts right away but keeps cranking. Does anyone know what can cause this. Everything I look up is alway the vehicle not starting. But mine starts and keeps cranking for a bit and then it’s fine.
I swapped relays, changed spark plugs, new battery, and tested the alternator all with no luck.
Has anyone heard or experienced this before? If so how did you fix it?
The car has a push button start so there is no key tumbler to get stuck.
please help!

If you know the starter is actually still energized when it shouldn't be, I would suspect that the solenoid which is mounted on the starter is sticking. If the starter is not energized but still engaged to the flywheel when it should't be, I would suspect a problem with the Bendix drive gear on the starter. Either case, replacement of the starter is the solution.
Either of these conditions can damage the flywheel teeth so get this corrected ASAP.
