Default '08 Focus, 5 speed, intermittent No Crank

2008 Focus with 5 speed manual. Have to push the clutch in in order to start. Every now and then I go to start it and nothing. Don't hear any clicks from any relays or anything. Then wait a few seconds and it starts right up. Yesterday, it did it and wouldn't start right away. I waited a little while then tried again and it started. Been fine ever since. I keep the battery terminals clean, though I know there are probably other grounds on the car I should probably find and clean. I know there is a safety switch somewhere on the clutch so maybe this could be the problem. ???
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and find out how to stop it from doing this.
Thanks for any help.
