Hi,
my friend have a 2001 focus with 109 000 miles on, and she noticed a burning smell in her car for the past 2 days. I smelt it and it smell like something electrical burning. I have no clue what is going on with it. Anybody got the same problem?

 

Same problem here in my wifes 02. I think that something plastic has fallen into the heater core, am going to investigate and will let you know.

 

Well Its been awhile since seeing anything happening with this topic I was just curious if either of you have figured out the burning smell you were talking about a couple/ few months ago?

 

I have a 2006 ZX4 focus and i get a burning smell to. I have heated seats and i thought it was caused by those but now i'm unsure. The smell only comes once in awhile so i'm a little confused on what the heck is causing it. I got the car in the winter and was using the heated seats and i got that smell. So when it got warmer out i stopped using the heated seats and the smell stopped to. Then all of a sudden it came back about two weeks or so ago. If any one has some info for me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,

I had a corroded reverse light housing short out, burnt up my wiring harness, the whole car filled with smoke and wouldn't turn off (2000 focus). Cost me a ton of money to replace the whole harness as well. Do you have any lights that are going on/off?
