Ford Focus 2012 Engine Oil Jump to Latest
Hello guys, my car is 2012 Ford Focus 2012 SEL Hatchback 2.0 Gas, it needs SAE 5W-20 oil meeting Ford WSS-M2C945-A specification. I ordered Motorcraft oil meeting that specification, but they sent SAE 5W-20 oil meeting Ford WSS-M2C960-A1 specification.
Does anyone know can I use that oil for my car or will it damage the car? Maybe WSS-M2C960-A1 exceeds WSS-M2C945-A or is some improved/equivalent version of WSS-M2C945-A, and I can easily use it? Or order WSS-M2C945-A specification oil again anyway?
I couldn't get any answer about this question, so your help will be important for me.
Thanks,
Andrey

WSS-M2C960-A1 supercedes the old spec WSS-M2C945-A. Ford updated it specs when the latest API rating was updated to ILSAC GF-6A and API SP which addresses certain issues. You have the latest specification and are good to go.
