M.A.F makeing idle bad then dieing
cel was on had checked said M.A.F was bad (was unhooked ) an worse plugged in so i bought a new one $230 later new one installed disconnected negative reset cel ran bad then slowly got better ran fine at idle for about 5 min's before returning to bad idle then died stayed running about 45 to a min 30 before dieing
plugged in cel is off so i dont know where to check for problem any one have a thought? |
When you disconnect the ECM , it needs time and driving to relearn. Be patient and drive it around for a while and give it time to relearn. If the MAF sensor was the problem and you corrected it , it should get better each time you take it out and drive it.

iv put close to 40 miles on it in town and a 4 mile stretch at 55 think it would take longer ,it sits at idle the worse it gets till i hear a clanking sound so i shut it down restart and rev it up ( not sure on the rpm's) and it idles OK for a while then starts to clank driving is OK until i put the clutch in like say im coasting or put it in neutral up to a light its clanks and wants to shut down |
